Behind again, sorry

I picked up some pretty cool stuff last week at a garage sale and the thrift store. Yeah for me! However, I have not been feeling well which has delayed my blog updates even though I had the pics ready to go last week. I am gonna split my finds up into a few individual posts.
I came across three bobbins of vintage ribbon at the thrift store. They were all brand new and at least from the seventies. This is typically not my preferred aesthetic, but I couldn't resist. Now I just have to figure out what to do with them. Any ideas?

A Gift From The Past

I've got some new wall art in my bathroom these days, but it wasn't done by me. My embroidering skills still need a lot of work. My aunt made these sometime in the 60's or 70's. The embroidery on them is fantastically done. The colors here are a little off, but I really enjoy the designs-very old-school.

Bringing Up the Home

Just a few domestic (but much needed) updates. I scored this super outdoor rug for half price at Target. Please ignore the lack of moulding on our walls. It is being painted.
Considering the kids get a good portion of every meal on the floor this outdoor rug should hold up nicely.
And in this corner I have brought together some friends to admire my other new rug, also on clearance. 88% percent wool and cute to boot, I needed something to protect my floors from the rocking chair. Unfortunately Hubble thinks it looks like a bath towel.
Now I need to make some throw pillows-they are kind of like shoes only for your home. :^)

Almost a month later...

I've just been busy.....and not really giving a hoot about blogging. I feel a lot of negativity swarming through the air. It could be the onset of changing weather. It could just be me. Either way I am back and hope to post my craftiness more regularly.

Bad pic (I am having a lot of trouble with this recently), but I made this set for a friend's little girl who just turned one. No patterns and I am glad I kept it simple....leaves some room for the wee one to do her own imagining. I was particularly pleased with the pear and it's shaping, however I didn't write it down so I guess I will have to do another set and see if I get similar results. I am looking into doing an eggplant, perhaps some other fruits and maybe some meal time foods.

Tata for now!
