Earflap 2

I made another earflap hat for another niece for our Christmas name exchange last year and this time I wrote down the modifications. You can see the original hat HERE.

This niece is fond of green and chose no adornments for her cap. You can find the original pattern HERE. The modifications are as follows:
Round 12: sc in next 5, sc inc: repeat 5 times (42)
Round 13: sc in next 6, sc inc: repeat 5 times (48)
Round 14-18: sc in each (48)
1st Earflap: sc 10, ch 1, turn.
Row 2: sc across (10), ch 1, turn.
Row 3: 1 dec, sc in next 6, 1 dec (8), ch 1, turn.
Row 4: sc across (8), ch 1, turn.
Row 5: 1 dec, sc in next 4, 1 dec (6), ch 1, turn.
Row 6: sc across (6), ch 1, turn.
Row 7: 1 dec, sc in next 2, 1 dec (4), ch 1, turn.
Row 8: sc across (4), ch 1, turn.
Row 9: 2 dec (2), ch 1, turn.
Row 10: sc across (2), ch1, turn.
Row 11: 1 dec, fasten off. Weave in ends

Fasten yarn halfway around hat and repeat for 2nd Earflap.

Crocheted border in Charcoal around the bottom of the hat. Using both colors, ch 25 at the point of each earflap and fasten off for the ties. Weave in all ends.

The contrast border and ties are my favorite part of this hat. Lots of room for personal interpretation here and makes my moms happy by fully covering the noodle.

Peace.
